Swim Aid organize Wine Tasting Fund Raiser at Meridiana.

Organizers and friends of Swim Aid recently held a wine tasting event at Meridiana Wine Estate. Guests were treated to a winery show around and a tasting of five of Meridiana’s premium wines. All proceeds from the event went for charity. 2015 Harvest at Meridiana Wine Estate comes to an end !!!

The 13th October marked the last day of this 2015 Harvest. Like every year we finish with the harvesting of our Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. 18 days of harvest spread over more than 60 days. It was another great year, now the works continue inside our estate winery and cellars as we prepare our latest vintages !!

Meridiana Wine Estate featured on the popular Italian TV Programm ‘Ricette all’ Italiana’ This programm is hosted by Davide Mengacci and Michela Coppa. Ms Coppa was at Meridiana were she interviewed our winemaker Manuele regarding Maltese wines. They also tasted some of our wines. For photos click here.

Wine tasting at Malta’s Independence Day celebrations in Riga.

This year was the first time Malta’s Independence Day was celebrated in Latvia. Malta’s Honorary Consul in Riga, Dr Janis Zelmenis hosted diplomats and other distinguished guests for a reception at The Radisson Hotel overlooking the Daugava River. During the reception guests were also treated to a tasting of our wines. The tasting was conducted by Meridiana’s Estate Manager Karl Chetcuti who flew to Riga for the occasion. The wines tasted were the Astarte, the Isis, the Fenici Rose, the Melqart and the Nexus. We would like to thank Dr Zelmenis and his team for this great opportunity. Harvest 2015 gets underway at Meridiana Wine Estate

The 10th August saw the first day of Harvest 2015. As we do every year we start with the harvesting of our Chardonnay grapes first. All grapes are hand picked thanks to between 30 and 35 pickers who come every day. For a day to day update and photos of every day of this year’s harvest please follow our Facebook page.

Meridiana supports Pam Baldacchino’s Deep Shelter Project.

Friday the 8th of May saw the opening of Pam Baldacchino’s, Deep Shelter Project, a digital visual narratives exhibition being held at St James Cavalier. Astarte DOK Malta 2014 represents Malta at United Nations Event.

The 30th April 2015 will remain a day to remember for all of us at Meridiana. After being invited to participate, we represented our country with one of our wines at a New York event organized by the “American Friends of the Cite de Civilisations du Vin”. 55 UN member countries were being represented by just one wine from their country and we chose to send our Astarte DOK Malta 2014, a wine made of Vermentino grapes which truly represents our proximity to the sea and the Mediterranean character. The event named “Wine & Civilizations Tasting Extravaganza” was held at the United Headquarters in New York City.

Meridiana renews it’s support for the Malta Fashion Week.

For the third year running we have decided to renew our support for the Mercedes Benz Malta Fashion Week. International Designers and famous fashioninsider.com magazine editor Marcellous Jones visited Meridiana Wine Estate and were treated to a winery show & wine tasting on the terrace overlooking our vineyard. In the evening, at the end of the International Designers Fashion Show guests were treated to a reception where some of our fine wines were served.

Meridiana’s wines now also available in Tokyo !!

After successfully launching some of our wines in Osaka last year, it was now time to get into another market in a larger Japanese city. Our new distributor in Tokyo received the first limited amount of Meridiana’s wines which were launched at three separate events. The first was a wine tasting event held at Trattoria Malta in the upmarket Tokyo district of Ginza. This was followed by a four day promotion at the Food Court of the luxury shopping mall Takashimaya Shinjuku, one of Tokyo’s largest and most popular. Finally a presentation from Mr Junichi Yamada, Director of the Japan Wine Cultute Promotion Society which was held at Fancl Rooftop Terrace in downtown Ginza.
