Meridiana Wine Estate has pioneered in Malta the production of “World-Class Wines of Maltese Character” – internationally acclaimed wines made from wine-grapes grown exclusively in Maltese soil. The enthusiastic reviews about Meridiana’s wines received from Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson have helped put Malta on the world’s wine-map. The name Meridiana and the estate’s sundial insignia have been inspired by our archipelago’s Southern European location. Our vineyards and winery are situated at Ta’ Qali, Malta’s agricultural heartland. The estate’s 91,000 red and white vines were planted in 1994 and 1995 respectively with the first releases of a limited quantity of both wines being released in 1996.
